Bio: I have been involved in mental health most of my working life. Initially a a psychiatric nurse, then as a University lecturer. Alongside my academic career I work as a counsellor, seeing people on a weekly basis. Counselling offers the freedom to work in more creative ways, not having to meet endless targets set by outside organisations. It also offers me the chance to work with my patients for as long as they need- not as long as target driven organisations demand.
